Puerto Rico has been thrust into public conversation here in Chicago, from budget turmoil to the recent discoveries by WBEZ of falsely promised rehabilitation centers, yet it has never left the heart of what we do here at Rincon Family Services. We are broken over those who have been robbed of their identities and dignity, and have pursued immediate solutions with other organizations who share this same sentiment.
The challenge of seeking help and rehabilitation for Latinos and beyond in Chicago is not new to us, having been rooted in this city for forty plus years. Yet our compassion has not faded, and our desire to provide effective care is greater than ever.
Reaching out towards recovery is an act of bravery and we applaud those who took that step. We are frankly appalled by the acts of these false treatment centers. So we take this as a wake up call to present ourselves as a safe-haven for fellow Puerto Ricans, and Chicago at large. Rincon Family Services exists to offer solutions that prevent stories like the one above.
Our programs and specialists have been mainstays of recovery on the Northwest Side of Chicago, and we are expanding our mission to address the needs of the family as a whole.
